Living Food is authentic, organic food that is presented to us just how Nature made it. It is food that has not been altered in any way to change its cellular structure or composition.

It is food that has not had extreme heat applied to it, nor has it been processed in any way. Therefore it is authentic food that contains its full spectrum of minerals, vitamins, anti-oxidants, phyto-nutrients, chlorophyll, oxygen and other essential compounds.

Living Foods include seasonal uncooked fruits, vegetables sprouts, nuts, and seeds: uncooked sea vegetables, AFA, organic coconut oil, small amounts of organic olive oil, raw cacao beans, (raw chocolate), goji berries, raw organic honey, herbs and seasonings.

HOW IS LIVING FOOD DIFFERENT FROM COOKED FOODS?

Nature has ensured that Living foods contain all the necessary enzymes required for the body’s metabolic functions to take place. Enzymes are literally the sparks of life. Every function that takes place in our bodies is dependant on enzymes. Living foods contain enzymes that activate all the genes that protect you from disease and keep you from aging prematurely.

Your body has its own supply of metabolic enzymes and digestive enzymes, which assist in digesting different foods.

When Nature’s foods are heated obove 110 degrees F or 44 degrees Celsius, the enzymes are destroyed and our cells do not receive the necessary nourishment and energy. Synthetic processed and cooked foods have no enzymes. Dr Edward Howell stated in his book Enzyme Nutrition that “ in order for the body to digest food lacking in enzymes (cooked, processed foods) it drew enzymes from it own supply or enzymatic bank account, therefore depleting the body’s reserves.” Low reserves of metabolic enzymes, means a diminished ability to repair cells and fight disease. Eating enzyme-intact Living foods does not rob the body of its own reserves and therefore your vitality and immune system is not jeopardised.

Living foods are high in minerals. Minerals are the most essential elements, necessary for optimum health and youthful looks.

People today are eating an increasing amount of acid-producing substances. These include foods such as sugar, flour, meat, dairy, coffee, tea, soft drinks, refined grains, prescription and non-prescription drugs. Stress is also acid forming. The body’s pH level drops from 7.0 to 6.2 setting the stage for acidosis to take hold. Symptoms of acidosis include arthritis, candida, weight gain, bladder and kidney conditions, depression, chronic fatigue, allergies, premature aging, joint pain, constipation and other digestive disorders. An overly acid environment allows pests (bacteria, fungus and mould to proliferate), and for cancer cells to thrive in.

 

 

WILL A LIVING FOODS LIFESTYLE SUPPLY ME WITH ENOUGH PROTEIN or CALCIUM?

This is a commonly asked question, particularly by people who eat a diet that is high in meat or dairy products. There are several points to mention here.

The food nutrient charts tell us meat is rich in protein, iron and B12. Dairy foods we are told are high in calcium. However, these charts represent the nutrient value of foods in their uncooked state. When these foods are heated, most of the protein, iron, calcium and other nutrients are destroyed. Scientists have known for years that applied heat inactivates vitamins and minerals, drastically reducing absorption by the body. So in reality, we are only getting a fraction of the nutrients if we eat our food cooked.

As far is adequate protein intake is concerned, it is amino acids that provide protein in your body. All 23 amino acids are contained in plants and are far more easily digested and assimilated than cooked coagulated, heavy animal tissue. Not only that but organic plant sources of protein are cleaner and safer with no artificial hormones, antibiotics, chemicals or drugs.

Let’s look at the animal kingdom: the incredibly strong gorilla, the swift racehorse or the powerful buffalo. What do they all eat to get such incredible muscular structure, strength and stamina?

GREEN GRASS, that’s what! Green leafy vegetables are in fact an excellent source of high quality amino acids. Check out gorillas - who anatomically are very similar to humans. Take a good look at their rippling chest muscles. Now that’s the best advertisement for a body building diet of uncooked greens and fruit I’ve ever seen. That’s all the proof I need.

 

 

CALCIUM

The best sources of calcium do not come from processed, heated bacteria ridden dairy products. The dairy industry spends billions of dollars each year trying to convince you that you can’t live without one to two glasses of milk each day. Harvard studies conducted on 78,000 women over an 18 year period have revealed that milk consumption does not prevent hip fractures or osteoporosis. The women studied actually broke more bones than the women who rarely drank milk!

Silica and Magnesium are the 2 minerals that build bones – magnesium in particular is extremely deficient in the average Australian diet.
