Pomegranate Supreme

Pomegranates are one of the oldest edible fruits in the world and have superb anti-aging properties. They contain high levels of vitamin C, folic acid and are abundant in polyphenols, a powerful anti-oxidant that removes free radicals. Each pomegranate can have between 329-1000 seeds or kernals. When pomegranates are in season around autumn time, this makes a yummy green shake.

  • Kernals from ½ - 1 pomegranate
  • 3 oranges
  • Handful of baby spinach
  • ½ blender full of filtered water

Method:

Peel the oranges and place in the blender with the pomegranate kernels. Place the baby spinach on top and add the water. Blend until smooth and creamy. Enjoy!

Dragon Fruit Floater

Dragon fruits are such a delight. White or deep red, they are extremely high in vitamin c, and beautiful skin anti-oxidants. Rich in fibre, they are an ally for a sluggish bowel, stimulating peristalsis. Most importantly, dragon fruits are invaluable for their ability in helping the body to excrete heavy metals.

  • 2 cups fresh apple juice (galas or granny smith)
  • 1 inch slice of peeled dragon fruit (red)

Pour the apple juice into a bowl. Flat the thick slice of dragon fruit in the middle and leave for 10 minutes before serving. Watch the pinky-red colour of the dragon fruit swirl into the apple juice. Using a soup-spoon, break a small piece of the dragon fruit off and eat with your apple soup. Yum!
