Captaining Your own Ship or The Real Meaning of Personal Power
Each day our cells are being constantly renewed. In a sense, we are re-born each day. Through the magical process of cellular renewal we can create better health, more vitality and look younger than we did weeks, months or years before. The quality of our cells is dependent on the quality of nutrients they receive and the amount of toxins we take in. The first priority is to remove low quality foods that create inflammatory responses in the cells of the body. Next, we add in nutrient-rich, oxygenated, alkaline, raw plant food and plenty of pure water. This detoxifies and repairs the digestive tract which in turn, dramatically boosts the immune system.

The quality of our cells is also dependant on the quality of our thoughts. Our cells hear our thoughts and respond to them. Thoughts of anger, selfishness, fear and loathing towards our self and others, weaken our cells, whereas thoughts of kindness, compassion, acceptance and love enliven our cells.

It is not so much the initial thought that causes us to enter an emotional, mental and physical abyss. It is the choice to continue repeating the thought which has produced the physical reaction. For example: someone has done something or said something which has triggered pain and hurt. You picture the scene again in your mind. This time you are speaking out about what you wanted to say… but didn’t say at the time - or you ‘rehearse’ the scene over and over again with different dialogues taking place, peppered with pain- felt accusations and criticisms. Your body is becoming tight, your teeth might be clenching, your heart is beating faster in time with the intensity of the conversations being replayed.

All this devastation is taking place from the hostility occurring in your mind! We put these reactions under the banner of ‘stress’ which politely excuses us from admitting we are angry/envious/jealous/disappointed/indignant/resentful/condemning/self-righteous/scared of/ etc. - at someone or a situation. Most of the time, these whirlpools of emotions are happening without conscious awareness. This is the kind of stress generated from the frustration of our inability to control /people, situations and outcomes.

Choose to swap a thought of judgement or fear for one of detached compassion, hope and faith. How? Become very, very aware of what kind of feelings these thoughts produce in your body. For instance notice any shift in your breathing, aches, pains, feelings of tightness or heaviness - anywhere - that appears after or with the thoughts. Any thought that disturbs your peace needs to be swapped for one that produces a pleasant feeling of acceptance and calm within you.
As with anything that has been learned well in life, repetition is the key.

Just be vigilant about choosing to swap a ‘body/mind disturbing thought’ for one that sends kindness to a person or situation and most importantly - to yourself.

You are the captain of your ship and no-one else can captain the vessel that is you – better than yourself. No-one else can write the contents of the script with which you orchestrate your life. With the right navigational tools, you can steer yourself away from health destroying, age accelerating, restrictive thoughts - to thoughts that uplift, heal, expand and rejuvenate , not only yourself, but ultimately everyone you come into contact with.

That is the real meaning of Personal Power.
